I’M A TEXAS GIRL THROUGH AND THROUGH—A SEASONED COMMUNICATIONS EXPERT, COMMUNITY BUILDER, AND THE PERSON YOU WANT IN YOUR CORNER WHEN THE GOING GETS TOUGH.

Very into: big hair, bold ideas, and stories that make people feel seen. Not so into: fluff, pretense, or ignoring the elephant in the room.

I’ve spent over 25 years (!) in school communications and leadership, but let’s rewind for a second. My journey started in a family that knew the meaning of hard work and grit—my father taught me about resilience and service, values that have guided my career every step of the way.

Long before I was leading crisis response plans or helping superintendents reimagine their districts’ brands, I was a small-town Texas girl with big dreams. That “small town” charm still fuels my work today, whether I’m guiding a room full of school leaders through a customer service workshop or helping a superintendent craft the perfect message for a tough community conversation.

HOW IT STARTED…

Before launching Veronica V. Sopher K-12 Communications Consulting, I served in the trenches. From building communications strategies for 74 schools to managing multimillion-dollar bond campaigns, my career has been one long love letter to public education.

I’ve had the privilege of working as a Chief Communications Officer, Assistant Superintendent, and even president of the Texas School Public Relations Association (TSPRA). But it wasn’t just about the titles; it was about building trust, telling the stories that matter, and making sure no school district ever felt alone when faced with a challenge.

HOW IT’S GOING…

These days, I’m living my dream by helping school leaders master the art of communication. Whether I’m leading retreats for district executives, crafting crisis management strategies, or giving districts a total communications makeover, my mission is clear: to empower K-12 leaders to share their stories with clarity and purpose.

But it’s not all work and no play. When I’m not helping school districts shine, you can find me at the heart of my favorite community—my family. My Texas roots run deep, and so does my love for big family dinners, Tex-Mex feasts, and Sunday drives.
